Year 10: IGCSE Grade
All students are required to choose one English language course (ESL/EFL) and one math course.
Year 11: AS Grade
All students are required to choose an English Language Course (EFL). Students are required to meet the IGCSE passing criteria before taking relevant A level subjects. The results of the AS level will play a key role in the university application.
Year 12: A2 Grade
There are no compulsory courses in Year 12. Students are free to choose subjects based on their interests and future plans.
Course Selection Guide
Year 10: IGCSE Level
·All students must choose an English course (ESL/EFL) and a Mathematics course.
·Students are encouraged to select subjects from different learning areas to ensure a well-rounded education. This will also prevent limiting future study pathways by narrowing subject choices.
·To have a chance at studying abroad, students should understand that their IGCSE results will be considered in their application.Subject changes may only be requested by students with parent approval and may be subject to Head of Department approval.
Year 11: AS Level
·All students must choose an English course (EFL).
·Students should only enroll in a subject if they meet the criteria for success in IGCSE. Many courses have set prerequisites.
·AS-level results will play a crucial role in the success of applications for overseas placement.
Year 12: AS Level
·There are no compulsory courses in Year 12.
·Students should carefully consider their subject choices before continuing or discarding any particular subject.
·Some subjects are standalone, meaning that students can enroll in them without prior study. It is advisable to consult with the appropriate Head of Department to determine if choosing a particular subject is suitable.
